- The “ Temples of Edfu and Kom Ombo ” tour from Aswan will begin with the departure for the towns of Edfu and Kom Ombo, assisted by our representative, who will pick you up at your hotel in Aswan . You will first visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, at the time of its construction dedicated to two deities, Horus, the falcon-headed god of the sun, and Sobek, the crocodile-headed god of fertility. You will then continue to the Temple of Horus in Edfu, dating back to the Old Kingdom period. Its “telescope” structure measures seven thousand square meters, second in size only to the Temple of Karnak in Luxor . The Temple of Edfu is one of the monumental works in Egypt that is best preserved, thanks to the thick layer of sand under which it remained buried for centuries. At the end of the excursion, you will return to Aswan where you will spend the night in a hotel.
